Websters defines nutrition as the act or process of nourishing, the process by which an individual takes and utilizes food material." Everything you put in your mouth eigther adds to your health and wellness or takes away from your health and wellness. It is simple... what you eat and drink all day, every day determines your quality of health.
Yes. you are responsible. Every choice you have made every moment of your life until now adds up to your present state of health. As a prerequisite to staring any nutrition and/or wellness program with Joy of Movement studio we require an extremely accurate log of everything(quantity and time of day) you eat and drink for two consecutive weeks(14 full days). You will bring this log with you to your install consultation. With this and other assessments we can determine where you are now.

Pilates
Pilates is a conditioning program developed and practiced to balance strength with flexibility allowing the body to move with optimum functionality. Pilates will increase mind and body flexibility, strengthen and tone the muscles, align the body and mind, restore and increase vitality, stimulate the mind and elevate the spirit.

Yoga: to unite, to come together
Vinyasa yoga unites your breath (pranayama) and your movement/posture (asana) together in a sensual dance. The sweat inducing workout provides many benefits including cleansing and clearing your mind.
The practice of yoga is essentially a practice of self- examination. Yoga attempts to help us cultivate presence. When we are attentive to our actions, we are no longer prisoners to our habits. We do not need to do something today, simply because we did it yesterday. Instead, we recognize the POSSIBILITY of considering our actions fresh and so avoiding thoughtless repetition. CREATING FREEDOM!
Yoga- "The ability to direct the mind without distraction or interruption." Otherwise know as the practice of focus. In life we get what we focus on.
The human mind has a tendency to operate from a place of fear, worry and/or stress. "The leading cause of ALL infectious disease is stress."(AMA)
Yoga-"To still the fluctuations of the mind." Hence eliminating stress and creating space, an emptiness often described as peace in which all is known, all is accepted, all is perfect, and all is love. Clarity is experienced. With yoga the impossible becomes possible. That which was unattainable becomes attainable, that which was invisible can be seen.
